Raising
awareness about local non profit organizations
On December 19th,
we hosted a Christmas Open House/ potluck which was very well
attended and enjoyed. After a morning of singing Christmas Carols
and a Pot Luck Lunch we adjourned to the Computer Lab
for "Christmas and Computers". Our participants discovered
dozens of Christmas websites for recipes, crafts, stories, games
and much more!
On January
11th representatives from many Non Profit Organizations
attended "Social Enterprise", an orientation session
sponsored by the Enterprise Centre in partnership with LIRN
BC, SPARC BC, Canadian Rural Partnerships, BC Rural Network,
Service Canada and Enterprising Non Profits.
David LePage, program
manager of "enp" (enterprising non profits) facilitated
this all day session. This orientation workshop was the first
step to applying for funding from enp and normally costs $200
to attend. However through this partnership it was offered to
local Non Profit Organizations free of charge.
And the winners are!!!
Here are the four
winners of the MC McFlea Colouring Contest! Members of the Kiwanis
Club of Dawson Creek had a hard time choosing from the many
entries in this contest. But we're sure you'll agree that these
entries are all top notch. These talented artists have each
been awarded a twenty dollar gift certificate to the Northern
Toy Box. Perhaps they'll stock up on crayons!
